Honored officer Sergei Vlasenko, who headed the Museum of the Strategic Missile Forces in the Moscow region for decades, was found guilty of fraud on an especially large scale - he registered fictitious employees, to whom salaries and bonuses were written out for several years.
The first such employee received 3,1 million rubles, the second 120, and the third another 135. However, Vlasenko ultimately received a suspended sentence, the correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".
At the trial it was revealed that “the lion’s share of the funds was spent on purchasing 159 items for the museum, and an inventory confirmed their presence in the collection,” writes the Kommersant newspaper.
“Taking this into account, as well as the merits of the defendant, who was also awarded a certificate of honor from the President of Russia and numerous departmental awards, the court sentenced Mr. Vlasenko to three years probation with a probationary period of two years,” the publication reports.
The defendant admitted his guilt in full for the crime he was accused of and repented of his actions, according to court documents.
