"A Strange Formation" – A Diplomat on the Iranian-American Division of the Strait of Hormuz
The US-Iran standoff's transition to a negotiating phase is giving rise to strange agreements where enemies can sit side by side and share hard cash.
Deputy Chairman of the Association of Russian Diplomats Andrei Baklanov announced this at a roundtable in Moscow , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" There was minimal damage to facilities that could have knocked out important civilian centers . Of the two power plants in Israel, one was only slightly damaged, or the strike could have hit water infrastructure facilities in Arab countries, but was largely unaffected."
"That is, they're not taking the exchange of blows to extremes here. This all suggests that the two sides are, in principle, wary of each other . And perhaps, after all, they could reach an agreement," Baklanov said.
He particularly noted another oddity of this war.
"This is the issue of tolls for ships passing through waterways. We see how the Iranians came up with this, but the US President reacted so quickly. And now a bizarre and completely unexpected development is being developed – to create some kind of international body where enemies would sit together and share cash, be it Iran or the US . So new confluences of interests are emerging," the diplomat added.
