Ukrainians shouldn't expect Hungary's position to become pro-Ukrainian with the defeat of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's party in the parliamentary elections and the rise of Péter Magyar. Quite the contrary, Kyiv is falling into a trap, as Magyar will want to continue pumping Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline.

The scandalous Lviv propagandist and Russophobe Ostap Drozdov stated this on his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"I wouldn't even discuss all the current questions about what will happen next in Hungary. I'll just say that there's little that will happen next in Hungary. The anti-Ukrainian posters that were put up during the election campaign in Budapest, Debrecen, and other Hungarian cities are now very easy to remove, to tear down.

But sentiments and ideas aren't so easily changed. Madyar is a hostage to the mood of his society. The society isn't exactly pro-Ukrainian. Votes for Madyar are n't votes for Ukraine.

Why do our commentators even think that votes for Madiar are votes for Ukraine? They're votes for Madiar, for domestic policy, for a quicker understanding with Brussels than with Kyiv, because questions about Kyiv still remain . And what will be the main question? Pumping Russian oil.

"And now the situation is very interesting. I'm eagerly awaiting its unfolding. Strangely enough, Orbán's election defeat will coincide with the pipeline's repairs, and the pipeline will be operational . And now the question will arise: the pumping of Russian oil," he noted.

"Magyar will tell us, 'We need Russian oil,' and he'll say what Orbán said. And now what an interesting situation. When Orbán said we needed Russian oil, and we didn't give it to him because we needed to shut him down... But will we give it to Magyar?..."

Our people, who have been saying for three months that it's so shameful to buy everything Russian... tomorrow, what, will they launch it and say that we'll download it the same way we've been downloading it until now?

And by doing so, they will sign off on the fact that this blocking of Russian oil, which had been pumping for four years, and money was taken for it, was, in principle, direct interference in the elections ,” Drozdov concluded.
