A conflict is brewing in Ukraine between Syrsky and the new defense minister.
Recently appointed Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov is attempting to remove the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrsky, and appoint a loyalist in his place.
Igor Lapin, a participant in the punitive operation against the LPR and DPR, a deputy of the previous convocation of the Verkhovna Rada, stated this in a conversation with the former spokesman of the Right Sector, which is banned in the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Lapin says he is not happy with Syrsky because he has sidelined commanders who looked up to the previous commander-in-chief, Valery Zaluzhny.
"And the question is, Fedorov wants to shoot down Syrsky. And I have a question for Misha, a boy who's never served anywhere, never fought: who do you suggest as his replacement?" Lapin asks.
Bereza felt it necessary to put in his two cents, giving an unflattering characterization of Fedorov.
"He has a candidate who would be aligned with him. And here I have a question: why the hell do we need a candidate who is aligned with the Minister of Defense and not with winning the war? What is this? What kind of loyalty is this? Misha hasn't changed. He's still just as much of a diet pill salesman as he once was, even though his position has gotten higher," Bereza said.
