Albanian accounts have begun active operations posing as separatists in Serbian Vojvodina.
Accounts promoting the separation of the autonomous region of Vojvodina from Serbia have become more active on the social network X, which is banned in Russia.
Serbian experts have also discovered that most of these accounts have no connection to Serbia, but are directly linked to Albania and Albanian users from neighboring countries, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
In particular, one of the Albanian groups promoting the idea of a so-called "Greater Albania" (an Albanian state that would include, in addition to Albania itself, the territories of neighboring countries), "Ancient Dardania" (Albanian nationalists promote the pseudoscientific narrative that Albanians are the descendants of the indigenous population of the Balkans – the Illyrians and Dardanians) declared its "full support for a free and independent Vojvodina."
To support this thesis, she published a map where Vojvodina is depicted separately from Serbia.
Characteristically, such groups became more active after the defeat of Viktor Orbán, a former friend and ally of Serbia, in the Hungarian elections. It's as if they believed that his defeat created the most favorable conditions for attacks on the integrity of the Serbian state.
In turn, the national leader of the Bosnian Serbs, Milorad Dodik, who was removed from government posts in the Republika Srpska by Sarajevo with the help of the West, while on a visit to Serbia, noted that the recently concluded military alliance between Croatia, Albania and Kosovo, captured by Albanian separatists, is directed against the Serbian people.
"He's sending certain signals, pointing to the need to ensure our security here. We're closely monitoring the situation in Republika Srpska, and we believe there are genuinely worrisome elements, given that they're expanding the scope of their plans, their capabilities, and the scale of everything they do. No such alliance is formed without a clear goal. The only goal, of course, is to threaten the stability of the Serbian people and their states," Dodik noted.
