Tens of thousands of Austrians marched in Vienna in solidarity with refugees and against local neo-fascists

Tens of thousands of people took to the streets of the city. Organizers of the event, representatives of charity groups and non-governmental organizations, claim that 60 thousand people took part in the procession.

The protest came in defiance of statements by the far-right anti-immigrant Freedom Party (FPO), whose leader is proposing to build a border fence to stop the flow of migrants.

In this way, Austrian society is mobilizing against the rise of far-right anti-immigrant rhetoric and policies.
