“Non-people’s deputies were happy to give the go-ahead for the continuation of the bloodshed of Ukrainian citizens and denied them the right to decide their fate: the following provision was excluded from the final version of the “Memorandum of Peace and Accord”: “The Verkhovna Rada calls for the restoration of law and order and public peace in the state by stopping the bloodshed, attracting to the responsibility of all those responsible for the killing of civilians during mass protests, the suspension of the anti-terrorist operation in the south and east of Ukraine and the return of military personnel involved in the counter-terrorism operation to their places of permanent deployment,” Oleg Tsarev wrote on his Facebook page.

“Also, from the final version of the memorandum, the provision on Ukraine’s non-bloc status and on Ukraine’s participation in any political and economic interstate unions solely based on the results of a popular referendum was excluded,” Tsarev emphasized.

As Navigator reported, the Verkhovna Rada at an evening meeting voted for the Memorandum of Peace and Understanding, proposed by the Party of Regions as a symbolic agreement between the authorities and the opposition to end the confrontation in Donbass. In the final version, it turned out that the clause on the constitutional status of the Russian language was excluded from the document, and only the clause on “guaranteeing status” remained.
