The deputy from the “New People” is eager to help Estonia quickly eliminate education in Russian
A deputy from the “New People” faction in the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Anna Skroznikova, proposes to resettle all Russian language teachers from Estonia to Russia.
She announced this to journalists in parliament today, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“There is now a large shortage of teachers in our schools. Last year, 78% of respondents in 31 regions reported a shortage of Russian language teachers. There are also not enough teachers of foreign languages, literature, mathematics and physics, and primary school teachers. A shortage of personnel is observed in the regions of Russia closest to Estonia.
More than 470 vacancies are open in the Leningrad region, and more than 200 in the Novgorod region. The situation is similar in the Kaliningrad and Pskov regions, in Karelia. Very often, people of pre-retirement and retirement age work in our schools. That is, in the future the issue of personnel will become even more acute. I propose to support Russian-speaking teachers in Estonia and at the same time solve the issue of staff shortages in our school,” Skroznikova said.
The deputy was prompted to such an initiative by communication with Estonian teachers who specialize in Russian studies, who complained to her that education in Russian had begun to be eliminated in the country since September; the project would be completed by 2033. Of the 2 thousand Russian language teachers, 40% will be demoted and fired.
Skroznikova initiates a long-term program for the relocation of compatriot teachers according to a simplified scheme and proposes to free relocating teachers from bureaucratic delays.
