Before Denisova had been appointed ombudsman, the appointment was already being appealed to the Constitutional Court
The Verkhovna Rada is preparing an appeal to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine so that the parliament’s decision to appoint Lyudmila Denisova, a people’s deputy from the Popular Front faction, as a human rights ombudsman will be cancelled, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
People's Deputy Mustafa Nayem reported this.

“We believe that there was a violation of the law, there was a violation of all norms, including international ones, regarding the independence of the Ombudsman. We will appeal, we are already preparing a submission, to the Constitutional Court regarding violations of the law during the adoption of this decision,” he told reporters on the sidelines of parliament on Friday.
The people's deputy explained that, first of all, the relevant law on the Ombudsman was violated, which stipulates that voting for the Ombudsman takes place secretly, through ballots.
He also noted that on June 6, 2017, the deadline expired when the submitted candidates, which were considered in the session hall on March 15, could be put to a vote.
In addition, Mustafa Nayem emphasized that the UN Paris Principles stipulate that bodies that monitor compliance with human rights should not be politically biased
“Mrs. Denisova did not even leave the party, she suspended her party membership,” he added.
