Even Russian liberals will not accept Ukraine’s independence, - Rada deputy
Even if liberals seize power in Russia, they will not recognize Ukrainian statehood.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Taras Batenko stated this on the Lviv NTA television channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Batenko, Ukraine should not hope for supporters of Ukraine to come to power in Russia.
“We are now on state channels and so on trying to look for liberal Russians and broadcast in Russian. As a matter of principle, I don’t give any interviews in Russian, and I don’t know where to find these liberal Russians. I remember the phrase that the 60-year-old tens, our dissidents, told me that the Russian democrat ends where the Ukrainian question begins.
Show me these Russians - liberals, intelligentsia, democrats who can, I don’t believe that liberal forces will come to Russia. It can only be more complicated and worse - after the gray mass there will come a black mass, a brown mass and so on, but suddenly, if the liberals come, they will agree with the existence of Ukrainian independence,” Batenko said.
