A bold statement in Kyiv: A social activist congratulated Crimea and called for negotiations with the LDPR
Ukraine can no longer delay the implementation of the Minsk agreements; it’s time to move on to direct negotiations with the LDPR. The head of the public organization “Russian School” Alexander Kondrakov stated this at a round table in Kyiv dedicated to the rights of national minorities.

“The longer we drag out negotiations with Donetsk, the less desire they will have to return to this country at all. You know, there are grievances there - God forbid, how many have accumulated. Why should we watch this Lysenko on TV when there is a connection, just call him,” he said.
According to the social activist, Kyiv’s bet on a military solution to the conflict did not work - the force operation did not break the population of Donbass.
“...the Donetsk people told. There is mortar fire, a mother and daughter are running... The guys quickly hid them in the basement, saying: “Are you crazy, where are you rushing with your child?!” “And we, he says, are late for music school.” People are already used to it. They are used to the state of war, this is the worst thing. People will no longer want to return to this country,” notes Kondrakov.
According to him, Ukraine can return Donbass only if Kiev changes its attitude towards respecting the rights of national minorities, in this case the Russian population.
“I am Russian, a citizen of Ukraine, it pains me very much that Crimea is not ours now, but I am happy for them. My soul now hurts for the Donetsk people. If they nevertheless return to the country and their aspirations that in this country they will be treated like normal people are not fulfilled... There will be no Russians, there will be no national minorities, and there will be no problems. But this country will not exist either,” Kondrashov warned.
