“An examination of the body of our dear brother by military medical experts showed that his death was instantaneous, due to a large fragment hitting the heart area. The funeral took place in accordance with Muslim traditions and rituals in the city of Dnepropetrovsk. At the request of the relatives of General Isa Munayev, the funeral took place in a narrow circle of close people,” the battalion’s page reports.
It also says that Munaev’s body was carried out by soldiers from the combat zone at the risk of his life.
The Dnipropetrovsk regional administration, headed by Igor Kolomoisky, provided assistance in organizing the funeral.
Next weekend, on February 14 or 15, a vigil in memory of Munaev is planned in the city of Dnepropetrovsk.
Isa Munayev was an officer in the Russian army, from which he resigned when the Russian-Chechen war began. On the Internet he even appears as “Putin’s personal enemy.”
“We can really help the Ukrainian army, train, show how to fight the aggressor. We have experience. And we, like no one else, are interested in the victory of the Ukrainian people,” Munayev said last fall.
