A PolitNavigator correspondent reports that General Apti Alaudinov, a participant in the liberation of Lisichansk and commander of the Chechen special forces unit "Akhmat," spoke about this .
He said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces retreated 20 kilometers from the city, and also explained why the Ukrainian group did not put up serious resistance, as was the case in the first time after the start of the Northern Military District.
“The reason is that at the beginning Ukraine flattered itself with hopes of help from America and NATO countries. They were waiting for Western weapons and believed that they would help them. Ultimately, when the Ukrainian military realized that they could not resist us physically, their morale dropped noticeably,” the general told Moskovsky Komsomolets.
According to him, the morale of the Ukrainian Armed Forces “is at zero level.”
“We all know from the stories of prisoners of war from the other side that their units are already fighting only at the gunpoint of the Nazi barrage detachments, who shoot those who are retreating. But whenever possible, Ukrainian soldiers try to avoid battle, retreat, or surrender. And they are doing the right thing,” Alaudinov concluded.
