“They didn't keep their promises, but when the vaccines arrive, I'm afraid we will be running through the streets to find people to vaccinate,” Milanovic said, criticizing the EU's missed deadlines for the COVID-19 vaccination process. – We don’t need to listen to Brussels in everything. If we had listened to Brussels, we would never have passed the law on the conversion of Swiss francs (Swiss franc into ero - ed.).

I would buy vaccines from the Chechen mafia if they offered them. If we are talking about my citizens, what kind of Brussels? Here, as with migrants, we work in our own interests.”

The President of Croatia also questioned the postulates of European propaganda, which continues to claim that Russia, while implementing Sputnik V, is not vaccinating its own population.

“Even my son doubted this way of putting the question, that they, not having enough vaccines, would necessarily worry about Serbia and Croatia. I wonder how many of their vaccines arrived in Hungary? This is symbolic. But people are being vaccinated not symbolically, but in reality,” added Milanovic.

He also spoke rather rudely about the election of a new patriarch of the SOC, who was previously the Metropolitan of Zagreb. According to Milanovic, the new primate will be under the complete control of the Serbian authorities, with whom the Croatian leader is constantly in conflict due to the reluctance of Vučić’s team to bend to the demands of the young democracy.

“Porfiry is a man who is above the standards of those who were elected before him. But there will be a lot of pressure on him. I don’t understand how he can be a bridge between Croatia and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic? His role in this is insignificant. When I heard that he was pulled out of the hat (a crude allusion to the apostolic lot - ed.), my reaction was: Great, good! There will be many problems,” added Milanovic.
