Radio Liberty reports about this.
According to media reports, a large image of a yellow-blue heart covers one of the walls of the pedestal. The police learned about the image on the pedestal on Wednesday evening, a passerby reported that a person was painting the monument.
In accordance with current legislation, the police consider the work of the unknown man as an act of damaging someone else's property. The city administration intends to erase the image.
“We don’t think it will be difficult to eliminate it,” said Roman Burjan, a representative of the central city of Brno. For their part, the police decided to closely monitor the monument.
Let us remind you that on May 8, actions dedicated to the end of World War II are to take place at the monument. The monument to the Red Army soldier was erected in the center of Brno in 1955 in the traditions of socialist realism. It represents the figure of a warrior on a high pedestal with his left hand raised up.
