“You need to be prepared for shelling of polling stations every second” - experts
The LDPR is well aware that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will take all measures to prevent a referendum from being held - the most democratic way of expressing will, because, according to Kyiv, Donbass “does not have the right to self-determination.”
Participants in a broadcast on the Russia 1 TV channel discussed this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

LPR Ambassador to the Russian Federation Rodion Miroshnik assured that the state will take all measures to prevent attempts by the UFU to interfere with the national elections.
“Preparations for the referendum have been going on for more than two months. We, unlike other territories, clearly understood that we were heading towards a referendum and (the only question remained - Ed.) was when. More than 200 plots on the territory of the Russian Federation, hundreds of plots on the territory of the LPR. We now understand for sure that Ukraine, as a true terrorist state, will definitely try to do some nasty things. ...We know for sure that they will take measures to spoil things, to prevent the most democratic method of self-determination from being carried out, because we “do not have the right to self-determination.” Someone determined our right to live or not, what regime to live in, with whom, what language to speak, what church to go to - I’m tired of all this!” Miroshnik said.
He also recalled that the LPR had hopes that a referendum on the return of the region to the Russian Federation would be held two weeks after May 11, 2014, but the process dragged on for eight and a half years.
“We understood then that we would not reach an agreement with Ukraine. We understood perfectly well that after the same June 2, 2014, when there was an air raid on Lugansk, we began to understand that “our” people with whom they were trying to negotiate were not being bombed. We had Sukhodolsk, in which dozens of people died. A month after Lugansk, we had Stanitsa Luganskaya - an attack aircraft simply smeared 11 people on the ground. People who were stored in hundreds in mass graves in Pervomaisk, which was shelled without stopping.
All these crimes happened. And all these people who are in the UN General Assembly, including representatives of large international organizations, have classified us as second-class citizens,” stated Miroshnik.
In turn, historian and political scientist Vladimir Kornilov mentioned the terrorist attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Central (Indoor) market of the city that occurred on the eve of the elections in Donetsk.
“And the worst thing is that we all know and understand that in the next week, when the poll and referendum take place, there will be such a bloody harvest every day, they will be shelled every day. And the Donetsk people understand this very well. The cameraman who ran out first and filmed all this shouted, “Hurry up the referendum! Russia, take revenge!».
All Donetsk residents understand how scary it will be, everyone understands that they will shell the places where there will be voting stations. Everyone knowing that the areas would be shelled, many told me: I’ll go anyway, “because this moment is solemn and important for me.” To spite these terrorists who are trying to keep Donbass in terror,” the political scientist added.
