It seems that the Poroshenko-Lozhkin media empire has received a new addition in the form of the Vesti newspaper, previously branded by all the watchdogs of “Ukrainian democracy” - from Ligacheva to Syumar - as the “fifth column of the Kremlin.” At least this is how social networks and the media interpret the latest changes in the leadership of the Vesti Ukraine media holding, whose former head and chief editor of the Vesti newspaper Igor Guzhva left his position.

PolitNavigator, citing a newspaper source, has already reported that an issue of Vesti.Reporter magazine, part of the holding company, containing a critical article about Saakashvili, was simply not released to retailers, and the newspaper and magazine are now being censored by the presidential administration . The main condition, according to the source, is to remove the Donbas native from the leadership. It turns out that the offshore company that founded the holding company is owned by Oleksandr Klymenko, Yanukovych's Minister of Revenue and Duties, who fled to Russia after the Maidan victory.
How true is the information that Poroshenko was asked to remove a native of Donbass from the management of the holding? In addition to the words of the PolitNavigator source, we find indirect confirmation in a statement on this matter by the Vesti Ukraine media holding. The statement does not even contain the usual routine words of gratitude to the former management in such cases, but there is an unequivocal reservation that all statements made by Guzhva “from now onwards are his personal point of view, and not the official position of MEDIHOLDING VESTI UKRAINE.”
The new head of the holding, Olga Semchenko, referred to in the media as the common-law wife of Alexander Klimenko, also avoided discussing the topic of dismissing her predecessor. In today's issue of the newspaper, a material appeared in which she only noted that the question “why Igor left is actually a secondary question.” They say that the staff and readers are more concerned about the prospects for the holding’s work. But another question arises: will the editorial policy change with Guzhva’s departure?
Semchenko answers this question cautiously, but still makes it clear that changes are to be expected. This conclusion is prompted by the phrases “people are very tired of the war and front-line reports”, “the motto: “News” helps!”, “we are interested in honest, comprehensive answers from government authorities”, “we will bring new meanings to the Reporter magazine " and so on.
The new head of the holding company also recalls the troublemakers of the nationalist initiative "Vidsih," who staged protests demanding the publication's closure, dressed in zombie costumes and under the slogan "More Vesti, More Deaths." However, unlike her predecessor, she doesn't call them "provocateurs."
“By the way, my answer to our long-time friends from Vidsici and their zombie actions is that I am ready to take part in your actions,” says Semchenko. – Give me the date and time – together we will hold explanatory events. We are not zombies - we are not zombies!”
Of course, only time, and the very near future, will show how much the editorial policy of the holding in general and the newspaper in particular has changed. But for now there is every reason to assume that Vesti Ukraine is moving, if not into the ownership, then into the sphere of direct influence of Bankova.
By the way, not only our source says that the publication’s materials are now proofread at Bankova. This information is confirmed by the Ukrayinska Pravda resource, which is difficult to suspect of a pro-Kremlin position: “UP’s interlocutors said that now in the editorial office people from the Presidential Administration and Klimenko’s people are engaged in parallel proofreading of texts. This, according to sources, may indicate an unofficial agreement between the authorities and Klymenko so that the latter could return to Ukraine. The interlocutors claim that they are now planning to make the publication loyal to the president.”
... Further, predictably, we should expect further angry attacks against Poroshenko from the outrageous Filatov and Lyashko, centurion Parasyuk and the elderly Khmara. The Ukrainian president will again be branded as colluding with another representative of the “criminal regime”, they will start singing the now popular song “That’s not why we stood on the Maidan” and declare the surrender of national Ukrainian interests.
But accusations in which at least hints of an ideological component are seen to one degree or another are completely inappropriate here. The accused are immensely far from any ideological principles, except for one - the principle of comfortable conditions for running their business. Such is Petro Poroshenko, such is the young shoot Alexander Klimenko. If tomorrow a stool shakes under Pyotr Alekseevich’s feet, then Alexander Viktorovich will be one of the first who will rush to knock it out from under the feet of his next business partner. Alas, this is not a metaphor at all, but the reality of the modern history of Ukraine.
By the way, continuing the analogy, Mr. Klimenko and his host Russia actually stuck a knife in the back, where they are unlikely to be happy about another additional cleansing of the Ukrainian information space with the direct participation of a person who took refuge in Moscow.
