Putin's ex-adviser who fled to the West revealed dirt on Navalny
Russian liberal Alexei Navalny only pretends to be an oppositionist, in fact carrying out the tasks of the authorities.
Former adviser to the Russian president, Andrei Illarionov, who left for the West, stated this in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Dmitry Gordon, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Illarionov, the decision to change the Russian Prime Minister was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin together with “friends from the security bloc” who have had a negative attitude towards the retired head of government Dmitry Medvedev for more than 10 years.
Illarionov claims that in order to fight Medvedev, a project was even launched by non-systemic oppositionist Alexei Navalny, who was allegedly involved in corruption investigations.
“This is a decision that Putin made together with his colleagues, old friends from the intelligence services corporation. The fact is that the representatives, his friends, who have now become colonel generals and generals, people from the special services who now occupy key positions in the Russian government, such as Patrushev, Bortnikov, Naryshkin, Ivanov - they never liked Mr. Medvedev. Sergei Ivanov grew a grudge against Mr. Medvedev back in 2007, when they, being potential candidates for succession, took different paths. Medvedev got the presidency, and Ivanov, who already believed that the presidency was in his pocket, found himself out of work, and is now an adviser on environmental and transport issues.
This cannot be forgiven, therefore, since 2007, both Ivanov and his other colleagues have been looking for ways to resolve the so-called Medvedev issue and have made repeated attempts to weaken it and remove it.
A very important ally in this matter for them was Mr. Navalny, to whom they regularly dropped various compromising materials on Medvedev and which he posted with great pleasure, including the famous film “He’s not Dimon for you,” Illarionov said.
