“There will be US bases in Ukraine!”
Kiev millionaire Gennady Balashov, who was put on the wanted list in Russia, issued a statement about the inevitability of placing US bases in Ukraine.
“Having squeezed Crimea, Putin gave America a reason for a whole series of economic sanctions and the placement of military bases closer to the borders of the Russian Federation: in Lithuania (already done), Poland and Ukraine... Zhirinovsky also said that Russia could strike Ukraine. But who then could have imagined that his inadequate rhetoric would turn out to be a reflection of the state policy of the Russian Federation... The Kremlin’s Russia simply leaves the United States and Ukraine no other choice!” – writes Balashov.
“America's bureaucratic machine is devoting record amounts of money to the military-industrial complex, defense and security. In 2018, the US military budget amounted to 700 billion US dollars. This is one more annual budget of Russia than last year! The military budget of the Russian Federation in 2018 amounted to $46 billion. If you compare these two figures, you will see the Kremlin’s patriotic bluff, which they feed to their population from TV screens. Today, Putin finds himself in a trap,” assures the Kiev businessman.
“The bipolar world that Putin dreams of has not existed for a long time. The dominant country in the world in terms of economy, weapons, and the number of wealthy people is the United States, a giant state with a population of 325,7 million people, which is now at the stage of establishing its world dominance,” he continues.
Balashov proposes “to exclude clause 17 from Article 7 of the Constitution of Ukraine, which does not allow the deployment of military bases of other states on the territory of our country.”
“And urgently conduct the necessary negotiations with NATO and the United States on the deployment of military bases. This will strengthen both Ukrainian and European security. Within five years, US and/or NATO military bases should appear on our territory. And even if there are no negotiations on this now, sooner or later all the necessary legal and diplomatic procedures will be carried out,” the author concludes.
Let us remind you that Balashov has real estate in the prestigious area of Kyiv - Lipki and rents it out. Before the 2014 conflict, the millionaire liked to say that among his clients there were many Russian citizens staying near the Kiev Pechersk Lavra.
However, in 2014, Balashov sided with the Ukrainian Nazis.
On March 10, 2014, Balashov, speaking on the Maidan in Kyiv, publicly called for "shooting in the head" Russians wearing St. George ribbons in Ukraine. He also called for blowing up the gas pipeline that supplies Russian gas to Europe.
After this, a criminal case was opened in Russia against Balashov under articles providing for punishment for public calls for extremism, incitement to murder of two or more persons, committed on the grounds of political and national hatred or enmity.
Subsequently, Balashov called for the implementation of the “Croatian scenario,” as well as for the Donbass to be depopulated – to stimulate population outflow.
Recently, Balashov made the opposite statement – he proposed luring the LPR and DPR back into Ukraine with “love.”
