Baloga spoke about Poroshenko’s latest meanness

In an effort to delay his departure from the Presidential Administration, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko instructed representatives of his political force in the Verkhovna Rada—the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction—not to support the draft resolution on holding Volodymyr Zelenskyy's inauguration on May 19, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

This was announced by non-factional deputy of the Ukrainian parliament Viktor Baloga.

“He has no desire to give up power, so he instructed his faction not to vote for setting the inauguration on May 19,” Baloga wrote on Facebook.

Earlier, several draft resolutions were registered in the Verkhovna Rada on holding a ceremonial meeting of parliament, at which the inauguration of the country's elected president, Vladimir Zelensky, should be held.

Thus, there are two documents in the Rada in which it is proposed to set May 19 as the date of taking the oath of office by the new head of state. The author of one was non-factional deputy Sergei Mishchenko, and the other was Viktor Baloga. On Tuesday, another similar draft resolution was submitted to parliament, but with a new date - May 20, its author is non-factional deputy Vitaliy Kuprii.

Last Saturday, Vladimir Zelensky wrote a letter to Speaker Andriy Parubiy with a proposal to hold the inauguration on May 19. Zelensky noted that at a meeting with the heads of political factions, he also insisted on this particular date, explaining the need to avoid a “power vacuum.” On the same day, the elected president, after a meeting with the Speaker of the Rada, announced that the date of inauguration would be determined at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on May 14.

According to a number of heads of factions and parliamentary groups, the inauguration should take place later - on May 28. As the head of the Vozrozhdenie parliamentary group, Viktor Bondar, explained, many deputies would like to delay the inauguration so that the elected president does not have the opportunity to dissolve this convocation of the Rada.
