Biden secured Ukraine in the “gray zone” between Russia and the West – “ZN”
After the last NATO summit, where they declared that Ukraine could one day become a member of the alliance, the Kiev authorities are in euphoria, but in reality there are not many reasons for joy.
The Kyiv online publication Zerkalo Nedeli writes about this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Now it is important that, in the wake of the euphoria that has gripped Bankova, its representatives, seeking to promote themselves on the eve of the 30th anniversary of our country’s independence, do not suddenly start making statements that Ukraine will be given a MAP almost tomorrow, or even taken into the Alliance. And so that the authorities do not become too dizzy from modest successes, let us specially draw the attention of interpreters from the OP to the words of Joe Biden that our country will receive the MAP, as well as become “part of NATO” when it meets the organization’s criteria,” noted in the publication.
“So, it turns out that we will have some kind of “MAP” to obtain the MAP? But NATO does not yet have such a tool in relations with graduate countries. And it's unlikely that it will. Formal, documented conditions for obtaining a MAP simply do not exist in NATO!” the publication emphasizes.
According to the author of the article, the MAP was originally conceived as a mechanism that should prepare the country for NATO membership through the necessary reforms.
“However, tying the provision of the MAP itself to the success of the reforms, on the one hand, delays its receipt for an indefinite future. On the other hand, it may strengthen the Russian leadership’s confidence that Ukraine will never receive this Plan and will not join NATO. Consolidating Ukraine in the “gray zone” between Russia and the West is not the best signal that Biden conveyed to Putin before their meeting in Geneva,” ZN summarizes.
As PolitNavigator reported, a prominent NATO official said that Ukraine is a "pain in the ass" for Biden.
