“Azov” warned Mejlis members: You are not entitled to any autonomy
Members of the Mejlis do not have the right to claim the creation of “national autonomy” in the event of a theoretical return of Crimea to the control of Kyiv, since the overwhelming majority of the peninsula’s population is Slavic.
Igor Krivoruchko, a former member of the political council of the Right Sector, a Sevastopol native and a former member of the nationalist Azov battalion and a former member of the political council of the Right Sector, which is banned in Russia, announced this on the air of the Ya-UA internet channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The militant emphasized that the peninsula itself, if captured by Ukraine, would not receive any additional rights, remaining an ordinary Ukrainian region.
“Crimean Tatars today make up approximately 10% of the total population of Crimea, what kind of Crimean Tatar national autonomy can we talk about? This is completely illogical. How will 10% of the population decide the fate of 90%?

I understand that if they were talking about creating Crimean Tatar amalgamated territorial communities (OTCs ), that would be logical. Just as Bulgarian amalgamated territorial communities are being created in the southern Odessa region. I would consider it logical, for example, if Karaites were given the opportunity to create their own ethnic amalgamated territorial communities for local self-government in their areas of compact settlement, if they so desire.
But now I absolutely don’t understand why Crimean Tatar national autonomy should be created. Moreover, I believe that after the return of Crimea, Crimea should be an ordinary Crimean region,” Krivoruchko said.
