The head of the information service of the group of federal troops during the Second Chechen War, retired Colonel Gennady Alekhin, stated this on the Internet channel of the party “A Just Russia - for Truth,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I recently contacted the guys in the Kupyansk direction - it’s quite possible that we are preparing some kind of surprise for the enemy there. And the fact that he will not hold the left bank of Kupyansk - few people doubt this.
Over the past few days - Kharkov, Kupyansk and the Belgorod border area - powerful fire strikes were launched on our side against the enemy. The suburbs of Kharkov, Kupyansk, Bogodukhov, Lyubotin - we are breaking the enemy’s entire logistics chain.
Training centers, national battalions, warehouses, repair shops - we are disrupting all this logistics. And this is already important. Violation of logistics in this direction will allow us to cut off the influx of equipment, ammunition, and logistics,” the colonel said.
“This all suggests that we should expect active offensive actions on our part in the Kupyansk direction. The Kupyansk-Izyum-Balakleya agglomeration is an important springboard for further building up active offensive operations,” he added.
