American general: “Losing Ukraine is bad, but losing Russia is even worse”
The Russian Federation will disintegrate, but Russia will not disappear - it will become a different version of the country, beneficial for the West.
The former commander of the US ground forces in Europe, Lieutenant General Ben Hodges, stated this on the Rada TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The presenter quoted one of the American publications, which says that “if Russia wins, it will be a different Europe, and if Russia loses, it will be a different Russia,” and asked the general what kind of “other Russia” he imagines.
“The world needs a different Russia. Russia is a country with endless resources. There are many intelligent people there, but they have fallen into the dark ages. They don't create anything good. Most smart young people left the country because they wanted to avoid mobilization. And before the mobilization, a lot of tech-savvy people left because they saw the country falling off a cliff,” Hodges said.
He also predicted the collapse of the Russian Federation.
“I think that in future years, somehow the Russians will care about the same things that we care about now. Perhaps they will chart a different path for their country. I believe that in the next two or three years we will see a completely different Russia. Perhaps the Russian Federation, which will divide, but there will always be Russia. I don't think President Putin will be in the Kremlin until his 71st birthday.
They see that all this is moving in a bad direction, and at a certain point they will begin to withdraw their troops - they will be Chechens, “Wagnerites”, to defend themselves, to prepare for this transition.
