American general: Representatives of “contractor organizations” can service F-16s in Ukraine
The role of technical personnel servicing F-16 fighters, which the West plans to transfer to Ukraine, can be performed by “contractors.”
Former commander of US forces in Europe Ben Hodges stated this in an interview with the 1+1 television channel controlled by Bankova, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Hodges emphasized that in addition to training pilots, a large number of technical workers must undergo training before using fighters of a new type for Ukraine.
“Of course, you have to take into account that there will be some mechanical problems. An airplane, like any other machine, needs maintenance and must have spare parts. You must have trained mechanics on the ground for the plane to fly. So it's not just the plane, it's the whole system. Without a doubt, Ukraine will figure out how to do this.
There will be contractors, there will be various types of support. But what matters is not the number of aircraft, but the number of sorties that can be generated to meet mission requirements on a daily basis,” Hodges said.
