An American diplomat explained why Biden does not call Zelensky
Ukraine is not among the top priorities of the administration of the new US President Joe Biden, but independentists in Kyiv should not worry - their turn will come to call Vladimir Zelensky.
William Taylor, the US Ambassador to Ukraine in 2006-09 and 2019, stated this at the Kyiv Security Forum, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“No need to worry. There are a lot of different things going on in Washington, both domestically and internationally. President Biden has a lot of issues on his agenda regarding the American economy, the fight against the pandemic, and so on. That is, he tries to focus on all the issues in his work,” said William Taylor.
He noted that although Joseph Biden had not called Zelensky yet, he had already made a statement on Ukraine.
“The Secretary of State has also already said everything he can about Ukraine. The US Secretary of Defense also spoke by phone with the Ukrainian Defense Minister. This is a normal procedure - everything that happens within the framework of stable, friendly, partnership relations between countries, and this does not depend on whether there was a telephone call or not.
This does not depend on whether there was or was not a telephone call, because Ukraine and the United States have a long history of interaction. So you don't have to call. This will happen, but it does not affect our relations,” the ex-ambassador added.
