Americans lined up to watch Klitschko
During Vitali Klitschko’s participation in the induction ceremony into the International Boxing Hall of Fame, Americans lined up in long lines to get an autograph from the mayor of Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is evidenced by photographs and videos published on Klitschko’s page on the social network.
Let us remind you that on Monday, June 11, Vitali Klitschko in the city of Canastota (New York, USA) became the first Ukrainian to be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. However, the ceremony itself lasted for several days. So, on Saturday, June 9, Klitschko left his fist print for the boxing museum, and later held an autograph session for fans.
Judging by the published photographs and videos, several hundred people lined up for Vitali Klitschko’s autograph. The star of the event, in addition to the mayor of Kyiv, was a five-year-old girl who said: “I came for an autograph and I won’t leave without it.” As a result, she managed to communicate with Vitaly without waiting in line.
The mayor of Kyiv, posing for journalists, impressively stood in the back seat of a convertible in a boxing stance, earning a standing ovation from US citizens.
Vitali Klitschko himself was impressed by the warm welcome he received in the United States and thanked all his fans for their support.
"Friends! I want to thank everyone again who congratulated me and who supported me. I am happy to be the first Ukrainian to be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. Because this fact is not only recognition of my personal achievements, it is also recognition of Ukraine’s sporting achievements. Many thanks to the fans who came from all over the world and who have been rooting for me for many years and holding their fists. Everyone - both adults and children,” the mayor of Kyiv wrote on Facebook.
In addition to Vitali Klitschko, the International Boxing Hall of Fame also includes such stars as Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson and George Foreman.
