Albania is haunted by the territory of neighboring Greece
Greece has expressed a strong protest to Albania over an exhibition of photographs and maps held in Tirana on the topic of “genocide” and “territories of Albania occupied by Greece.”

The Greek Embassy in Tirana lodged a strong protest and demanded an explanation from the Administration of Albanian President Ilir Meta regarding the provocative exhibition. Photos, as well as maps, depicting Greece as an “occupier of Albanian territories” were posted on the fence of the Albanian President’s residence and were accompanied by accusations against Greece of “genocide”.
According to available information, Ilir Meta himself visited the exhibition.
According to the “Greater Albania” project, which is adhered to by Albanian nationalists and the ruling Self-Determination Movement party in Kosovo, the Albanian state, in addition to Albania itself, should include Serbian Kosovo and the Presevo Valley, as well as part of the territories of North Macedonia, Montenegro and Greece.
