12 US fighter jets will be stationed in Bulgaria
Sofia - Kiev, April 01 (PolitNavigator, Vasily Ablyazimov) - A dozen US Air Force fighter jets will take part in military exercises in Bulgaria near the border with Russia over the next three months, a defense ministry official told Reuters .

The agency said the deployment is "part of NATO's efforts to demonstrate its commitment to its military alliance allies in light of Russia's policy toward Ukraine." Moscow calls such exercises in Eastern Europe provocative actions.
About 350 US Army officers are taking part in the exercise at the Novo Selo training ground in southeastern Bulgaria. Armored personnel carriers, helicopters and tanks also participate in the maneuvers. The maneuvers will take place from April 10th to June 30th.
A close ally of the USSR, Bulgaria joined NATO in 2004 and is one of six eastern European countries that have deployed additional NATO troops since the Ukraine crisis.
