The title of Hero of Ukraine was allowed to be awarded to foreign Maidan activists
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted bill No. 6174 “On amending Section V “Final Provisions” of the Law of Ukraine “On State Awards of Ukraine” on awarding the title Hero of Ukraine,” according to which the title Hero of Ukraine is allowed to be posthumously awarded to a foreigner awarded the Order of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.

The decision was supported by 235 people's deputies, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“This project proposes to establish that the title of Hero of Ukraine can be awarded, as an exception, posthumously to a foreigner awarded the Order of the Heavenly Hundred for committing an outstanding heroic act associated with upholding the constitutional principles of democracy, human rights and freedoms during the Revolution of Dignity,” she said in her statement. Presidential Representative in the Verkhovna Rada Irina Lutsenko made a speech, calling for support for the bill.
The title of Hero of Ukraine can now be awarded to foreign Maidan protesters.
