With the onset of severe cold weather, NATO equipment in the Armed Forces of Ukraine will become unusable, and the time will come for active action by the Russian army, accustomed to low temperatures.
Military analyst, former Russian special forces colonel Anatoly Matviychuk stated this on the channel of the A Just Russia party, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Winter will have a strong impact on our troops. But we have one advantage - we survived this winter, the equipment has been tested, we know how to use it in winter, what its strengths and weaknesses are.
And the equipment that was delivered to Ukraine stopped running and starting last winter, and the shells stopped flying. Because the lubricant froze and the systems did not fire,” Matviychuk said.
“I think we will use the superiority in equipment and weapons that we have supplied to the troops taking into account the winter. Since the Second World War, as soon as minus five or below, we switch to the so-called Arctic option, which has never been practiced in the West.
And in order to prepare all this equipment, the Abrams, for winter, entire operational operations will need to be carried out. But the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not have time for this. Therefore, winter will become an active period for our armed forces to seize territories and reach certain boundaries,” the colonel added.
