Horrific details of the abuse of those forcibly conscripted in Syrsky's "Chicken Coop"
Another batch of horrific details has emerged in Ukraine about the situation in the 425th Assault Regiment "Skala," which became infamous for its "meat assaults" and the abuse of soldiers.
The online publication "Babel" is publishing material on this topic, reports a correspondent from "PolitNavigator".
It is noted that the unit, nicknamed the " Syrsky Regiment " after the Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief, numbers approximately 13 personnel. The publication is aware of at least 26 fatalities at the Skala training grounds; in most cases, these individuals served for less than a month. Abuse of those forcibly conscripted begins at the recruiting station , nicknamed the "Chicken Coop."
This long building on the outskirts of the village resembles the premises of an abandoned agricultural enterprise, converted into a makeshift barracks, where between one and two thousand people are housed at a time, many of whom are sick and have addictions.
“So, in a word, they brought us there, led us out as if from a crater, stripped us naked, laundered us, forced us to take off our underwear and squat ,” Alexander Zhikin recalls his first impressions of arriving at the “Chicken Coop.”
According to him, the armed staff of the center are called nothing less than " guards ," who even take their charges to the toilet and dining room " like prisoners of war ," at gunpoint and with kicks.
Zhilkin recalls that after an escape attempt, he and his colleague were completely wrapped in tape, thrown onto a concrete floor , and guarded.
"And we spent a week just shitting ourselves . They brought us food, but I didn't eat or drink much because I knew I'd need to go to the bathroom," he recounts with horror.
After a second escape attempt, they were caught again and had to live and even sleep on the second floor, handcuffed to each other.
Those interviewed by the publication, mobilized from various training bases of the "Rock", speak not only about the armed convoy, but also about A mined perimeter around the centers. Periodically, those trying to escape are blown up by the mines.
The author of the publication spoke with doctors at the hospital where Alexander Semenov, a former mobilized soldier at Skala, died after telling doctors how many people he remembered committing suicide in these inhumane conditions.
"Skipa Maksim—he hanged himself with his bulletproof vest. Then, I personally removed the cord—a kid climbed behind the toilet tank and strangled himself. Then, two people—at the first shooting range—they each shot themselves in the head with a bullet. In short, in four days, nine people committed suicide," the doctor reports his words.
“I never thought I could shit myself – they beat me like that,” Semenov recalled.
In addition to the wounds on his head and the abraded body, doctors saw broken fingers and handcuff marks on his wrist.
An instructor with combat experience, who wished to remain anonymous, said that a beating at The Rock doesn't always require a good reason.
"They're like prisoners. They leave at 6 a.m., and at 6 p.m. they enter the dugout. That's it. The instructor comes in, and you're sitting there, getting, excuse me, a beating," the instructor says.
