Foreign agent and former editor of the liberal radio station Ekho Moskvy, Alexei Venediktov, made this statement on the YouTube channel "Zhivoy Gvozd," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"The Crimea blockade, fine. Now the propagandists will start comparing it to the siege of Leningrad. What's the result? Does this bring the war closer to an end or escalate the situation? What's the goal? If it's escalating, then it's successful. If the goal is to push Putin to use more brutal force, then it's successful ," Venediktov said.
He emphasized that Ukrainian propaganda is spreading lies about the mood in Crimea: victims of shelling never begin to support the attackers or speak out against their own government.
