Russian drone operators under attack due to communication problems
The lack of high-quality communications forces the Russian army command to deploy drone units closer to the front lines, which leaves them vulnerable.
Combat veteran Svyatoslav Golikov, call sign "Philologist," announced this on the Roy TV video blog , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Everything's complicated here. Even if we put Starlink aside, the troops don't have basic aerial repeaters in large numbers..."
There are no heavy agricultural drones in commercial quantities where these repeaters could be mounted.
"Therefore, our drone operators are forced to enter this tactical zone. Consequently, our external support assets are in a significantly more vulnerable position than the enemy's," Golikov said.
According to him, while the Russian artillery's main priority is enemy armored vehicles, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' main priority is drone operators.
"Our UAV crews are among the priority targets. The crests have it written down. They get e-points for this—for knocking out crews. Naturally, they're under the closest scrutiny," Golikov said.
