Zelensky booked security forces to protect himself from their discontent
Ukrainian military personnel—both current and potential—are dissatisfied with the new mobilization law because it doesn't stipulate a term of service. Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on journalist Oleksandr Shelest's video blog, as reported by PolitNavigator.
The expert emphasized that even in the tsarist army, the service life, although long, was limited.
“The army is unhappy. I think that this is a huge mistake, as far as demobilization is concerned... Even in the tsarist army they took a maximum of 25 years as recruits, anyway there was a term, no one was taken for life. But here it really could turn out to be lifelong - either the war will be long, or you could simply die or be wounded in the war. Very tight tightening of nuts...
We see what is happening in parallel with the reservation of 100% of the security forces. The state understands that society will be dissatisfied, so it is necessary to rely on the security forces. We see what is happening with the reservation of structures that serve the authorities - two thousand people of only the so-called “cultured” in the form of journalists are armored in our country. Who will they serve – the people or the authorities, who will they court, having such a dependence?” said the political scientist.
“All these funny things with circuses distract attention from the fact that about a million people in the country will receive reservations. And it is precisely these million people – the internal security apparatus, various service structures, economic structures – that the state will rely on, suppressing the will of others to take a different approach,” Bortnik said.
