The office of the President of Ukraine is afraid of the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, because it sees him as a political competitor to Vladimir Zelensky.
Former Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine, Sergei Krivonos, stated this on the air of the Pryamyi TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Therefore, according to Krivonos, Zaluzhny is not present at official events with Zelensky and they prefer not to mention him.
“Nobody wants to raise the next Eisenhower in the Office of the President. They understand that after the victory they need to do something with General Zaluzhny - either send him into honorable retirement, or send him on some long-term foreign business trip, as a representative of Ukraine in NATO, or something else.
They clearly understand that he can become a competitor, because many political forces will fight for him after our victory, if only he would stand under their flags, so they forget about him - just to say a human “thank you”, to give a certain state award.
I have already raised the question of why General Zaluzhny, with all his wonderful achievements that he has done, has not yet received the title of Hero of Ukraine,” Krivonos said.
