Zee government flatly refused to supply water to Crimea
Ukraine will not resume fresh water supplies via the North Crimean Canal to the peninsula to prevent it from reaching the Russian military.
Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine Mikhail Khorev stated this on the air of the propaganda television channel "Dom", reports a correspondent for "PolitNavigator".
The official is confident that there is enough water in Crimea for the ordinary population, and there is a shortage only at industrial enterprises.
“As long as Crimea is in the occupied zone, it is an occupied territory, water will not flow there. He won’t go there because it’s an artificial structure, it’s not a river, it’s not natural, it doesn’t fall under the water convention, we’re not violating anything. And most importantly, Crimea is absolutely supplied with its own local runoff for drinking needs.
(There is a shortage of) industry - quite large factories "Titan", "Soda", "Bromine Plant" - this is what is located in the area of Armyansk and Krasnoperekopsk. This is steppe Crimea, there are no natural springs there, so the main source was the North Crimean Canal. Naturally, these factories have problems with production, products, and so on. The agricultural sector - accordingly, the entire steppe Crimea, there were irrigation systems. Everything that was grown there was grown thanks to irrigation. Naturally, the volumes of water available in Crimea are not enough for irrigation. And, of course, the army. The army of the aggressor country also consumes resources. There, a fairly large bloc is formed of military personnel. And he also lives not on the southern coast of Crimea, but in the steppe Crimea, closer to the mainland of Ukraine. Therefore, it is clear that Ukraine will not supply water there for these purposes, because it is the same as working for the occupier. For the population, drinking and washing with local water is absolutely enough,” Khorev said.
