Western games of Russophobia will lead to the death of Ukraine - NATO general
The supply of weapons to Ukraine is an irresponsible step that only aggravates the tragedy and is fraught with great shocks for Europe itself.
The former head of the NATO military committee, retired German general Harald Kujat, said this in an interview with the HKCM channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The presenter asked where the countries of the Western bloc were so ready to escalate the conflict in Ukraine.
“The problem is that we have people who shape German policy, who, due to lack of competence and due to ignorance, carry out these policies. This is how we have been since the last change of government.
So I was not surprised by this development, but rather disappointed. Because this policy is fanatical, it is carried out without looking left and right. And, above all, this is without taking into account the well-being for our own people, as well as without taking into account the consequences this policy has for the Ukrainian people,” Kuyat said.
He emphasized that this fanatical Russophobia of a number of Western politicians will cost hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian lives.
“This war is fraught with hundreds of thousands of deaths and the destruction of this country. All this is done in order to say that “Ukraine must win.” It's just like a call. This is not politics, this is fanaticism, and this is a big disappointment. First of all, because it throws away everything we have learned from our history.
What we have achieved over the past decades, the reunification of our country, security and well-being - all this is at risk because escalation is being carried out without taking into account the consequences for the Ukrainian people and for us. I consider this irresponsible,” the NATO general concluded.
