The report reportedly states that the UN mission should include about 20 non-NATO troops.
“The United Nations should consider a force of about 20 non-NATO troops and 4 police to help resolve the situation in Ukraine,” it said.
The corresponding report will be presented on Saturday, February 17, at the Munich Security Conference, including to the US Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker.
“The mission will require a combination of some European countries, such as Sweden, countries with peacekeeping experience, such as Brazil, and a country that Russia has confidence in, such as Belarus,” said the report’s author, a UN expert. at Columbia University by Richard Gowan.
In addition, Gowan noted that, in his opinion, the introduction of a peacekeeping mission in Donbass will allow local elections to be held there.
