The West is killing itself with anti-Russian sanctions “in the traditions of medieval monasticism” – liberal economist
The problem with the Western sanctions policy towards Russia is that its declared goal cannot be achieved.
Fugitive liberal economist Vladislav Inozemtsev stated this in an interview with liberal journalist and foreign agent Yulia Latynina, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“While you were blocking this for 10 months, prices rose so much that Putin filled his suitcases for a couple of years to come. Plus, you did an amazing thing. You said: in the traditions of medieval monasticism, we will torture ourselves - buying oil is expensive, gas is three times more expensive from America, and let these vile Russians sell their oil and gas somewhere else. As a result, they went to India and China to sell at a discount. That is, you overpay, and your opponents get it cheap,” Inozemtsev said.
He believes that the Western sanctions policy is completely discredited.
