Western politicians have reached a consensus not to accept Ukraine into NATO as long as this risks a direct military clash with Russia.
Political scientist Vladimir Fesenko, who serves the office of the President of Ukraine, said this on air on the Lvov NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A bridge to NATO is a beautiful term. I wouldn't focus on them, that's not the point. Neither last year nor now should we expect entry into NATO.
Everyone needs to understand one thing - while there is a war with Russia, and this is a nuclear country, NATO will not invite us. Because then NATO will have to take upon itself the responsibility to fight together with Ukraine, and these are the risks of a direct military clash between NATO and Russia, with a great risk of nuclear war and the destruction of all humanity,” Fesenko emphasized.
"I understand that We are again disappointed that we are not invited again. But you need to understand this logic from which Biden and other Western leaders proceed. They have a consensus on this issue,” he added.
