Deputies want to pass a law providing for punishment for insulting a police officer.

According to the project, for insulting a law enforcement officer you will have to pay from 255 to 510 UAH (or serve 15 days of administrative arrest).

Resisting a police officer will be punished with a fine of 3,4–6,8 thousand UAH, arrest for up to six months, or restriction of freedom for up to five years.

The Rada notes that the likelihood of the law being adopted is “very high”: the authors (Mustafa Nayem, Andriy Teteruk, Yuriy Bereza) argue for its necessity due to the supposedly weak protection of law enforcement officers.
