Yanukovych came, but Putin did not
Former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych was spotted yesterday at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow at the match between the Russian and Spanish national teams. Kommarsant writes about this today.
“Even Mr. Yanukovych was there. He took it and came out of exile - and so after the match, thank God, and went back to where he came from, that is, back there, into exile,” the publication writes.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, however, did not come to the important match of the national team. Only Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and his wife were in the government box.
“On the right sat FIFA President Gianni Infantino, next to Gianni Infantino was King Philip VI of Spain, then presidential assistant Igor Levitin... There were several governors, leaders of the LDPR, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, A Just Russia, United Russia - and all of them, in general . I saw the president’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, and the president’s head of protocol, Vladislav Kitaev... And the president’s assistant for international affairs, Yuri Ushakov... All that was missing, in fact, was the president himself,” reports Kommersant correspondent Andrei Kolesnikov.
Yanukovych is here , but Putin is not.
