Russian writer, former battalion commander of one of the units in the DPR, and now the leader of the newly formed party “For Truth” Zakhar Prilepin must repent for his trips to Donbass, support for “separatists” and glorification of participants in the war against Bandera’s Ukraine.
Ukrainian journalist Yanina Sokolovskaya stated this on the TV channel TVC, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Your trip to Donbass is not just participation in an illegal military formation and the murder of Russian-speaking people, and indulging in this. This is the glorification of war. But in fact, there is nothing good in war. This is the murder of people, plus in Donetsk at that time they were “squeezing out” property, someone was beaten, someone was driven into basements, and you sat over all this, as Zakharchenko’s adviser, and framed it as the heroics of war.
I think you need to repent as quickly as possible for what you did, explain that war is not wonderful, not an idyll, not commissars in dusty helmets, but a completely different story,” Sokolovskaya demanded.
In response to the accusations, Zakhar Prilepin explained that the people of Donbass welcomed help from Russia with joy, local residents asked to send Russian troops as soon as possible, but it is in Kyiv that war criminals are glorified.
“Starting in 2014, before becoming an adviser to Zakharchenko, and I would not have become one if I had simply come from Russia, I traveled all over Donbass with humanitarian supplies. I traveled to dozens, if not hundreds, of villages and towns and communicated with an abnormal number of people.
If in every courtyard and house where I visited, they would shout at me: “Damned Muscovites, get out of our country - while you were away, there was no war” - everything that our Ukrainian colleagues and opponents say at our television meetings , my heart would tremble, and I would, of course, think: “Lord, what’s going on, why did we even come here?”
But during this year of travel there was not a single case when people reacted like that. I have had thousands of cases when people said: “Let Russia send in troops, come and save us, please, why are you still not fully present here?” There were conversations about this, there were endless requests. And, of course, there was a feeling of absolute brotherly dissolution in those people who were waiting for me, I recognized them, and they recognized me.
Why are you asking me not to glorify the war, and not there, in Kyiv, speaking out and saying: “Go to hell, filthy volunteers, Azov, Biletsky, Yaros, and all the bastards who started the war?” – Prilepin was indignant.
Sokolovskaya replied that in Ukraine, looters, rapists and bandits are allegedly tried and imprisoned, but the war is not glorified.
