RIA Novy Den reports this , citing a discussion on social media.
The publication adds that the route proposed by Yandex.Maps involves crossing the state border of Ukraine in the Kharkov region and passing the Ukrainian automobile checkpoint in the Kherson region.
The publication also draws attention to the threats of Ukrainian officials regarding motorists with St. George ribbons on vehicles.
“Despite the fact that many Russian residents may perceive such statements with skepticism or ignore them altogether and continue to wear St. George’s ribbons, if they get into the independent territory, they may face problems. It is possible that problems could be created primarily by local law enforcement agencies actively searching for “Russian terrorists” among ordinary citizens,” the publication says.
“New Day” also reminds that “at the border crossings between the Kherson region and Crimea, nationalist armed groups operate, including the so-called Crimean Tatar battalion named after Noman Celebidzhikhan, which are practically not controlled by Ukrainian border guards.”
