The Ukrainian Air Force disgraced itself in air battles
The Ukrainian air force did not show itself to be anything special during the Russian special military operation.
Military expert Dmitry Boltenkov stated this, as reported by PolitNavigator correspondent.

“No feats were observed for the Ukrainian air force. The Russian Aerospace Forces did not lose a single aircraft in air battles. Our pilots beat Ukrainian pilots during a special military operation. Two of our pilots received the title of Hero of Russia for air combat - this says a lot,” Boltenkov told Izvestia.
In his opinion, now the Ukrainian Air Force does not pose a serious threat.
“Su-25 attack aircraft are mainly involved in combat sorties. Kyiv has a number of fighters; there are either no Su-24 front-line bombers left, or they are being held back for a rainy day. There is no need to expect serious supplies from the USA or Europe,” says the analyst.
He also notes that it is impossible to name at least one successful operation of Ukrainian combat pilots.
“The most famous fact for me of the use of combat aircraft by Kiev is the strike on the Lugansk administration back in 2014, during which civilians were killed. Probably, only he will remain in history,” the expert emphasized.
He added that not every country, as the North Military District has shown, can maintain combat aviation at the proper level.
“Training pilots, maintaining the condition of the warhead, its modernization and ammunition are very expensive, and you cannot save on this. But Kyiv did not want to spend money on aviation. As a result, all their combat aircraft are Soviet heritage. While they were friends with Russia, the planes were at least repaired, but then they were not maintained at the proper level,” explained the publication’s interlocutor.
He also recalled that Kiev propaganda tried to replace the lack of success with the myth of the “Ghost of Kyiv” - a pilot who allegedly shot down dozens of Russian planes.
“It was a failed attempt to cheer up his people. PR in Ukraine has generally become a second reality,” sums up Boltenkov.
