He announced this during a joint press conference with Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski.
“If earlier the attitude towards peacekeepers was cool, now everyone understands that peacekeepers are the most effective way of de-escalation, I emphasize, de-escalation, and not freezing of the conflict in Donbass,” Poroshenko said.
“The first stage is the preparation of an appropriate decision of the Security Council (UN - editor's note). The mission of the UN Secretary General is due to arrive. And we must accept the decision of the Security Council. The second stage is direct participation. The first stage is a matter of weeks, the second is a matter of months,” the head of state emphasized.
“In Paris, Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin is preparing a meeting of foreign ministers in the Normandy format on this issue,” the president said.
