Vučić pleased veterans of the defense of the Košari border post with the growing power of the Serbian army
The President of Serbia and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the country's Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vucic, visited the final stage of the “Lightning Strike 2021” army exercises.
Guests of the maneuvers at the initiative of the President were the Serbian member of the Presidium of BiH Milorad Dodik and veterans of the defense of the Koshar border post.

According to the PolitNavigator correspondent, Aleksandar Vucic congratulated the Minister of Defense Dr. Nebojsa Stefanovic, the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Moisilovic, all military personnel on the successfully conducted joint tactical exercises “Lightning Strike 2021”, which took place in eight locations in the territories of Serbia, in particular at the temporary training ground "Peshter", where the final maneuvers took place, which the president attended.

The President of the Republic indicated that today, for the first time, 11 MiG-29s could be seen in the Serbian sky, eight of which were equipped with air-to-ground missiles, and the remaining three were completely modernized and equipped with radars with a range of up to 110 kilometers.

Also, during the exercises, as the president noted, four Yugoslav-made G-4 aircraft were involved, that is, there were only 25 fighters and bombers in the air.
“Just a few years ago we had only four or five aircraft, of lower quality, so we can clearly see the increase in the power of our aviation,” Vucic said. “You saw the latest T-72 tanks, modernized and equipped, our M-84s reinforced with thermal imaging protection, batteries of four-barreled Pantsirs that can fire 30 rounds of ammunition per minute from 1500-mm guns.”
The President also noted that what he should work on and what direction is now activated are drones that have already been purchased, but new ones will be ordered.

“The strength of our army will be significantly increased over the next nine months, and I think this demonstrates the strength of the state. This would have been impossible if not for the great financial strength of our country,” Vucic said.
The President expressed special gratitude to the heroes of the defense of the Koshari border post, since 240 soldiers who participated in those events of 1999 were present at the exercise at his invitation, seven of whom came from Montenegro.

“Thank you very much, dear fighters, for your huge hearts and thank you for being here with us today. I saw with what joy you followed what was happening today. I saw your happiness and satisfaction that your army is much stronger today. You, with your wounds, and the devotion of your own and your colleagues, with your lives, contributed to the fact that today we have a powerful army,” said President Vučić.

Milorad Dodik, who was present at the maneuvers, noted that the efforts of the Serbian President to strengthen the country are noticeable in every segment of Serbian society.
