The Ukrainian Armed Forces “donated” their drone to the DPR military
Ukrainian electronic warfare specialists mistakenly jammed their own drone instead of an OSCE drone, sending it into the territory of the DPR.
Official representative of the operational command of the DPR Daniil Bezsonov stated this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, yesterday in the area of the settlement of Novgorodskoye the work of the maneuver group of the 502nd electronic warfare battalion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was again recorded, the actions of which led to the crash of an OSCE long-range unmanned aerial vehicle on April 19.
“This time, the tasks of the electronic warfare specialists remained the same - obstructing the work of the Mission observers. However, the commander of the maneuver group was not notified of the launch of a drone of the 53rd mechanized brigade “Leleka” in this area, with the help of which Ukrainian militants intended to adjust the fire when shelling the Gagarin mine village. The electronic warfare team successfully suppressed the control channel of the drone of their brothers-in-arms, as a result of which the vehicle, which had lost control and was disoriented in space, was noticed by our observers and subsequently taken to study the characteristics and available video material,” said Daniil Bezsonov.
He also expressed sincere gratitude to the commander of the 502nd electronic warfare battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant Colonel Sinozhinsky, for providing assistance in equipping the People's Militia units with aerial reconnaissance equipment.
