The Ukrainian Armed Forces do not have enough forces and means to hold the territory captured in the Kursk region for any long time.
Kiev political scientist Andrei Vigirinsky said this on the video blog of journalist Alexander Shelest, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Even the foreign press is asking the question: is there a calculation of the resource that is necessary in order to maintain some kind of additional front line on enemy territory? And there is no answer yet.
Today, the British wrote that 6-8 soldiers are concentrated. This is a lot, but not enough , because it's unclear how many Russia will deploy in response," the expert emphasized.
"Plus, I don't find the claim that, at the rate the Russians are advancing in Donbas, they'll need a year to de-occupy the territory relevant. That's bullshit and nonsense. Because the advance in the east is taking place along defensive lines that have been built over the years. Therefore, the advance is proceeding through the destruction of populated areas.
So, for three or four days, even if engineering equipment arrived there, it is at least difficult to build fortifications. Not to mention the need to provide logistics, supply of food and ammunition. And plus, Russian aviation has not yet reached its full potential,” concluded Vigirinsky.
